Wildness & Wisdom
A Retreat for the Initiatory Journey of Peri/Menopause
Thursday 29th May - Sunday 1st June 2025
Dartmoor, Devon, UK
Connect with Yourself - Connect with Nature - Rest Deeply - Release Emotions - Nettle Tea Meditation & Nettle Ceremony to Connect with Deep Nourishment, Power & Boundaries
Menopause can bring up a lot - having been through it myself, I know! It's like all our sensitivities become heightened. Add to that the pressures and demands of life plus the negative messages we get from our society about menopause and aging, and we can end up feeling pretty fearful, frazzled, anxious and overwhelmed.
During our menopause process we need support. We need time away from the demands of daily life. We need space for the big emotions that can come up. We need holding.
This retreat offers you the opportunity to turn off the phone, put down your responsibilities and take a break from the to do list. We will guide you through a process to connect deeply with yourself and your body, and listen to what you need, so you can rest, release and replenish your nervous system and access the deep wisdom and support that is within you and all around you. Everything we offer is by invitation. There is nothing you have to do.
We will be living close to the land on our beautiful spot of Dartmoor; either camping or there are a limited number of cabins available. Food is wholesome and nourishing and we have a sauna on site.
The fee for the retreat including food and camping is £350 - £450
Accommodation in one of our cabins is an additional £30-£40 per night. (Limited availability - we recommend you book early if you'd like a cabin!)
With Emma Sampson & Melanie Ward

Emma Sampson - Emma is deep in her perimenopause process. She has been on a path of working with women's mysteries and mental health including feminine embodiment practices for the past 20 years, and has been holding spaces connecting to deep feminine wisdom for 18 years. She has lived her adult life with a deep connection to nature and has been studying plants for the last 20 years. Emma is also a sound healer, an artist and a steward of the land where our retreat will be held.

Melanie Ward - Melanie is a Shiatsu practitioner with 20 years experience working with clients to support them to connect with their bodies, gently release traumas and heal old patterns. She is a certified Shadow Work® coach and group facilitator, and has also trained as a Menopause Wellness Practitioner. In recent years she has specialised in supporting people through times of big transition such as bereavement, relationship changes and menopause. Her passions include spending time in nature, dance, writing and drawing. She describes herself as a proudly post-menopausal woman and a happily highly sensitive person.

"Sometimes it takes darkness and the sweet confinement of your aloneness to learn anything or anyone that does not bring you alive is too small for you"
